เรื่องราว การผจญภัยของนักสืบแนวหน้าของโจซอน (คิม จิน) โดยเขารับพระบัญชามาจากพระมหากษัตริย์ โจซอนเกิดการฆาตกรรมต่อเนื่องและเป็นสิ่งที่กำลังคุกคามประเทศนี้ ระหว่างการปฏิบัติภารกิจลับ เขาได้พบกับ ลี มยองบัง ซึ่งกลายมาเป็นคู่หูในเวลาต่อมา และพบว่ากุญแจสำคัญของคดีนี้คือ เจ้าของหอนางโลม ฮัน แกกจู ยิ่งพวกเขาล้วงลึกไปมากเท่าไหร่ก็ยิ่งพบปัญหาที่ใหญ่มากขึ้นเท่านั้นและการ ฆาตกรรมครั้งนี้ยังกุมชะตาของโจซอนเอาไว้อีกด้วย
